I am Associate Professor Biology at Portland State University. I have been employed at PSU for 20 years, teaching various classes in the biological sciences, including Human Anatomy and Physiology, Introduction to Organismal Physiology, Comparative Animal Physiology and Animal Behavior. Student success is my top priority. I enjoy working one-on-one with students but also teach large classes (100-200 students). My teaching philosophy is that every student learns in their own way. I endeavor to meet students where they are in terms of how they learn best. I am outgoing, and strong verbal communicator and compassionate. I am well-organized and reliable. In my free time, I enjoy reading, camping and hiking.
