How to find the right tutor

With our search feature, you can identify several nearby tutors. You can then message them with any questions. After that, we will create an account for you.

  • Find tutors close to you by entering your zipcode.
  • Discuss scheduling, and specific topics of study.
  • Contact as many tutors through our site as you wish, for no charge.
  • Read feedback and testimonials from past students.

Comparing us to other tutoring agencies

Unlike many agencies, you get the tutor`s contact information for only a simple, one off payment. There`s no ongoing commission, which leads to increased hourly rates passed through to the student. Since 2005 Tutor Hunt has helped thousands of students find the right tutor. Most tuition agencies will select your tutor for you, based on who they think would be suitable. Tutor Hunt doesn't work this way: we believe the parent, or the student themselves to be the best judge. They will know better than an agency assessor who is the right tutor for them.
Most agencies work by charging high commission rates, taking a substantial cut of the tutor's earnings. This has the effect of driving up the tutor's hourly rate considerably. We collect between 20%-25% of the tutors rate (minimum of £4.00). We believe this rate is substantially lower than most other agencies. The benefits for tutors on our commission structure is as follows;

  • We manage the whole booking process, and collect payments for the tutor, so you do not need to worry about transferring money or bringing cash to your lessons.
  • All online lessons can make use of our innovative online whiteboard, where you can communicate (video, audio and chat), share documents and your screen in real time.
  • Scheduling lessons is easy to manage through Tutor Hunt, if you need to reschedule or cancel lessons it can easily be updated through our system, your tutor is automatically notified.
  • Contact as many tutors through our site as you wish, for no charge or signup fees.
