Kimberly

I have a BS in microbiology and a BS in chemistry from Alderson Broaddus College. I graduated with magna cum laude with a cumulative GPA of 3.83. I then attended the University of Kentucky for graduate school in Microbiology and Immunology. I completed 44 hours with a cumulative GPA of 3.294. At this point, I was running a thyroid cancer research laboratory and published several papers and did not continue my graduate program. After a few years, I married and had four children which then led to finding a niche in the homeschooling community teaching science. I love seeing the "light bulb moment" when concepts finally make sense to students.

Experience: I have 9+ years of experience in the scientific research community and 15+ years of experience in teaching/tutoring science to high school students. I love biology and chemistry. I have also taught physical science and physics. I have quirky ways of explaining concepts that stick in students` brains. I like forming a solid foundation of the concepts of each scientific discipline and then building upon it.
It is also very important to me to discover HOW a student learns. I can direct my teaching in a very specific direction depending on whether the student is visual, auditory, or kinesthetic.
