Varleen

My name is Varleen and I graduated from UC Irvine with honors in Human Biology and minor in Psychological Sciences and I am currently applying to medical schools. I have experience tutoring and mentoring students of all ages. I have worked as a Biological Sciences Peer Tutor, General Chemistry Learning Assistant, and after-school instructor, helping students build confidence in science, math, and study skills. I believe every student learns differently, so I tailor my teaching style to fit each individual`s needs and learning goals. My background in the biological sciences and healthcare allows me to make complex concepts easy to understand allowing students` to build confidence in their learning.
My goal is to create a positive and supportive learning environment where students can succeed.

Experience: I have teaching experience in both classroom and one-on-one settings. At UC Irvine, I served as a Biological Sciences Peer Tutor for Genetics and Molecular Biology courses, supporting hundreds of students through office hours, review sessions, and individualized academic assistance. I also worked as a General Chemistry Learning Assistant, helping students with laboratory concepts and problem-solving skills. I currently work as an after-school instructor teaching middle school students math, science, homework support, and test preparation. I am comfortable tutoring elementary, middle school, high school, and college students and enjoy helping students improve their understanding, confidence, and academic performance.
