I hold doctoral degrees in Communication from Renmin University of China and in Educational Leadership from Western Illinois University. My research interests span mass communication and educational communications, focusing on how digital media influences public opinion, political participation, and educational practices. I have an extensive background in teaching and have held positions from an Associate Professor at Jinan University to a Temporary Full-Time Instructor at Slippery Rock University. My scholarly work includes publications on internet use and political participation in China and the impact of social capital on media exposure. As a believer in the teachings of Jesus Christ, my values deeply influence my professional and academic pursuits, emphasizing diversity, equity, and inclusion. Currently, I am engaged in several applications for academic positions while contributing to ongoing research about online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Experience: I have held various teaching positions across different institutions and countries. From September 2004 to July 2019, I served as an Associate Professor at the School of Journalism & Communication at Jinan University in Guangzhou, China. During my tenure there, I taught a broad range of communication and journalism courses, such as Broadcast Newswriting, Sports Broadcasting, Multimedia Journalism, Visualization for Data Journalism, and Advanced Public Speaking, among others.

I also worked as a Teaching Assistant at the Department of Communication at Western Illinois University from August 2019 to May 2021. There, I taught Public Speaking courses and assisted with various aspects of course preparation, instruction, and grading. Additionally, I provided support at the university`s writing center as a graduate assistant from Fall 2021 until July 2023.

Recently, I have been a Temporary Full-Time instructor at the Strategic Communication & Media Department at Slippery Rock University since August 2023. Here, I am responsible for a variable 4:4 teaching load that includes courses in Civil Discourse and Communication and Media Ethics.

My teaching philosophy emphasizes understanding the unique aspects of students, stimulating their motivation, and providing effective learning techniques to create a comprehensive and engaging educational experience. I strongly believe in fostering an inclusive environment that promotes intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and effective communication among students.
