I received my bachelors degree from UTRG-Edinburg in 1989. I went to work as an accountant/auditor for several different accounting firms. I focused on audits. I went through the alternative certification process to become a teacher. I became a generalist because I didn`t have enough math hours on my transcri pt. I have since become middle school and high school certified in math.

Experience: Taught Math (Algebra I/Pe-Algebra) for 19 years. I have a bachelors degree in Accounting, but I love teaching/tutoring math. I have worked with the Edinburg CISD for 18 years and I taught with the McAllen ISD for 1 year. I started teaching for a private academy, the Oratory Academy in Pharr, Texas, but I only stayed there for 1 year. I generally teach 8th grade, but I have taught and tutored 6th and 7th grades.
I was the sponsor for the Math Counts club for 4 years. I was a curriculum writer for Edinburg for 10 years so I worked closely with other teachers improving our Algebra curriculum.
