Information about Harlan
Hello one and all, I am a lawyer and professor of law, English and business in the United States and China. I enjoy working with many different types of people of all ages. It is my belief that to achieve success, a person must find a balance in life__between hard work, (or study) and leisure time, but one should never stop learning. Furthermore, a sense of humor is a must, and we should learn to laugh at ourselves.. Last but not least, I view life as a gift,, and something that we should never take for granted.

I created and taught courses on U.S. Constitutional law, Torts and Legal Analysis, and Research & Writing to staff and students. The curriculum included Tort law which sought to remedy civil wrongs that harm a person or property. The class focused on concepts such as intentional torts, negligence, strict liability, and product liability and case studies. The Constitutional Law course examined the roles of the executive, legislative, and judicial branches in determining limits of national and state powers and protection of the individual and civil rights provided in the United States Constitution, and the Legal Analysis, Research & Writing course, designed to teach each student to think, write, and speak like a lawyer. Students were instructed on how to solve clientsâ problems by using effective research techniques, accurate and in-depth legal analysis, and clear and concise written and oral communication. Additionally, I have lectured extensively and various aspects of U.S. jurisprudence in China., most recently in April of this year, on Constitutional law, with a focus on second amendment rights regarding the right to bear arms in the United States at Tianjin University.
