Bronson

Bronson is a patient, diligent, and thoughtful chemist with a full doctorate in analytical chemistry. He seeks to spread scientific knowledge however he can and give people the tools to improve their lives through the scientific method. After obtaining a bachelor`s degree in chemistry with an emphasis on biochemistry at Southern Oregon University (SOU), he pursued a Ph.D. in analytical chemistry at Oregon State University (OSU). Now that he has finished his degree, he is looking for ways to share his knowledge with the next generation of scientists. During his time at OSU, he taught general and analytical chemistry at the college level, along with instructing laboratory experiments. He enjoys working with students to help them reach the moment of eureka on difficult subjects and supporting them in achieving their academic goals. His specialty is in electroanalytical chemistry concerning electrochemical sensor design and biomedical applications of wearable and implantable sensors. He is trained in critical thinking, metacognition, and design of experiment.
Besides chemistry and teaching, Bronson enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his family. He is passionate about camping, rock climbing, music, and board game nights with his loved ones. He values equity and diversity in all things and making the world a better place through action. His goal as an educator is to make a safe place for all students to be heard and given the attention they deserve.

Experience: Graduate Teaching Assistant
• Taught chemistry recitation to class sizes of 30 to 100 students
• Instructed on subjects such as unit conversions, mathematics, molecular orbital theory, molecular geometry, chemical equilibrium, chemical safety, and instrument handling
• Developed problem sets and tests to help students track academic progress, and prepare for class exams
• Worked with laboratory groups of 3-4 students on developing experimental procedures to reach learning objectives
• Provided feedback on over 100 student laboratory reports to help them obtain high grades and hone their scientific writing skills
