As an instructor of Humanities and English at San Antonio College, I help students develop their critical thinking, reading, and writing skills as well as a love for shared i inquiry, exploration, and learning through engaging and inclusive courses. I also support them in their academic and personal growth, providing assistance and guidance whenever possible. I have taught online and in-person classes, reaching a diverse and large student population.
My passion for literature, philosophy, and classics, all the humanities, stems from my education at St. John`s College, where I earned a Master`s degree in Eastern Literature and Philosophy and a Bachelor`s degree in Western Literature and Philosophy with a minor in the History of Science and Mathematics. St. John`s is small, but life-changing, interdisciplinary liberal arts college with a curriculum set around great books.
I have also been an adjunct professor of English at St. Mary`s University, where I shared my knowledge and enthusiasm with the students and faculty. I have a strong background in both Eastern and Western traditions, and I enjoy exploring the connections and contrasts between them.
In addition to teaching, I love reading everything from novels and poetry to history and philosophy as well as cinema.
