• Run three to four 2-hour-long virtual lessons each week to assist middle and high school students with standardized test prep (SAT, ACT) and/or varying levels of mathematics, physics, and chemistry.
• Apply C2’s SWEAR model of instruction: State, Write, Explain, Apply, and Repeat.
• Effectively cycle between up to three students per lesson, each often working on a different subject.
• Methodically update records for each student post-lesson to track their long-term learning and successes.

Online Tutor, Pear Deck Tutor (Formerly TutorMe LLC), Remote August 2020 – Present
 Conduct virtual one-on-one lessons to help k-12 and college students struggling with various levels of math, physics, and/or chemistry.
 Pinpoint each student’s area(s) of trouble and guide them through practice problems while filling any gaps in knowledge and reinforcing their understanding of the subject matter.
 Skillfully employ online resources supplied by Pear Deck Tutor to engage with students. These include audio/video, screen sharing, virtual whiteboards, a text editor, and Google Docs.

Supplemental Instruction Leader, Campus Learning Center, VCU, Richmond, VA August 2018 – May 2020
• Meticulously planned and conducted three fifty-minute-long study sessions per week for university science classes, including General Chemistry I and II and Physics II. Each session held up to thirty students.
• Designed 6+ lessons and activities each week that utilized a variety of learning processes to appeal to visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and reading/writing learners.
• Employed techniques that are known to foster independent learning and improve student performance by up to a whole letter grade in the pertinent course. Techniques include using wait time and asking open-ended questions.
• Provided supplemental instruction to 200+ students over 2 years both in person and virtually.

Peer Tutor, VCU College of Engineering, Richmond, VA October 2017 – May 2020
• Instructed small groups of 1 – 5 students for 6 hours weekly.
• Assessed and supplemented students’ understanding of the material for major-specific courses, including Introduction to Biomedical Engineering and Statics and Mechanics of Materials.
• Emphasized the use of probing questions, student summaries, and repetition to facilitate understanding for each student.
• Conferred with students individually to determine areas for improvement and provide guidance for increasing comprehension.
