Information about Michael

I attended Catholic grammar and high schools, and graduated from the College of the HOLY CROSS, with my degree in Philosophy. About a year later, I enlisted in the Army expecting to use the GI Bill to pay for Grad school. Found a career instead, and spent 23 years in the Army, as a Sergeant and retired as a FIRST SERGEANT. While.in the Army, I was an instructor at the INTELLIGENCE CENTER AND SCHOOL for five years, teaching NUCLEAR, BIOLOGICAL AND CHEMICAL WARFARE AND DEFENSE as well as various topics on Lradership and Military Ethics; during that same period, I earned a Masters in Teaching at the UNIVERSITY OF Arizona. After retirement from the Sergeant, I earned a Masters in ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP along with a Certificate of GRADUATE STUDIES in Human Resources Management thanks to the GI Bill; I later completed my MASTERS in BUSIBESS ADMINISTRATION from CITY UNIVERSITY OF SEATTLE. I also earned the designation of a SENIOR PROFESSIONAL IN HUMAN RESOURCES from the Human Resources Certification Institute.

While working as a Human Reaources Manager and Director, I taught undergraduate and graduate courses in Business Management and Human Resources for City University`s branch campuses in EVERETT, NORTH SEATTLE, and TACOMA Washington. When I relocated to Californis, I taught graduate Management courses for the WEBSTER UNIVERSITY Program at Fort Irwin, California.

In addition, I found myself teaching transition from military duty to civilian work courses, primarily for the NAVY and MARINE CORPS for two years. During that same period, I had the opportunity to represent St Martin`s University in a joint venture with SHANGHAI UNIVERSITY teaching managent and finance in English for Chinese Undergraduates. That was a radically different experience but fascinating and challenging.

Experience: I am a lifetime learner and believe that small group and individual teaching and development are key in developing a new generation of life time learners and leaders.

I have found that being interested and motivated by students to help them achieve skills and expertise really an unexpected inspiration. Finding the best way to communicate with particular students in achieving their goals and potential is incredibly rewarding and motivating.
