I was raised in Bakersfield, CA. I am the sixth child of nine children.Our family came to Bakersfield for the abundant farmwork in the valley. As a child, I picked cotton, chopped cotton, picked potatoes and grapes. I am the first of my family to graduate from college. I have a Bachelor`s in Sociology w/minor in Psychology. I also have a K-12
CA Teaching Credential.

Experience: I have ten years of experience working with ESL students. I promote an interactive student learning model. I instruct across curriculum. My instruction/learning model is non intimidating and learner friendly. I incorporate music, movement and visual arts to accommodate student learning preference and style . I worked as Senior Counselor for a Federal Job Training Agency. In the 1990`s, I returned to school to complete my teaching credential through National University in San Jose. I have been employed with Kern High School District since 2005.
