Originally from the UK, I moved to the US in 1986. I am married to a biologist and we have two adult sons (married, but no grandchildren... yet). I retired from Washington State University in May of this year, where I am emeritus faculty.

Experience: I earned my BS in zoology and PhD in animal behavior in the UK. After moving to Chicago, I spent seven years as a post doc researcher in evolutionary biology. In 1983 I joined Washington State University - I retired from WSU in May of this year as an associate professor emeritus.

Over the years I have worked with MS, PhD and undergraduate students in research contexts. I have taught a wide variety of both graduate and undergraduate classes. I suspect the most relevant of the latter are preparation for college for freshmen, general biology for non-majors, conservation biology and animal behavior.
