Information about Evan
I have always wanted to serve people. And there are quite a few things I can offer to those less fortunate or anyone else in need. Being a musician of 13 years, I can teach violin or be an instrument practice partner. I can aid in the classroom, tutoring kids or taking care of them. I have camp counselor experience and lots of involvement with school sports and music productions, all of which had me take on leadership roles. I`m also a good team player, always ready to get out of my way to support my peers, such as being our varsity goalkeeper, or our one-man defensive specialist in basketball. I have broad experience in handiwork and carpentry, including boat-building, shed-building, acoustic panel construction, and more. I have an extensive knowledge of computers and technology, working with both hardware, software, and coding. I have been accepted to several selective engineering schools such as RPI and Penn State, and I am planning to defer my enrollment for a year so that I may grow my practice of being of use to others. Supporting the disadvantaged youth is what I feel a purpose of mine. I have a gift of being able to pick up any skill or comprehend any concept, achieving proficiency over a much shorter learning curve. Just as much as I love to learn things, I also have a genuine passion for passing knowledge and skills on to others and seeing them grow. I want to see kids believe in themselves and make good choices. I always make sure I get through to kids who might make bad decisions with drugs, self-harm, or suicide. I grew up in a multicultural family and lived in three continents with friends across all socio-economic cultural spectrums from inner city to rural regions.
