I strive to ascertain specific areas in which students of all grade levels need help with reading, writing, literature, critical thinking, and the ELA reading and writing sections of the SAT and ACT. I enjoy researching and creating exercises to help students with their particular needs.

Availability: Most weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30. I score TOEFL for ETS essays 2-3 days a week between 5:30 a.m. and 2:00 (schedule varies but mostly MTW). I am available some evenings, mostly M,W,Fri., and Sun.

Experience: I taught all levels of reading, writing, and literature as a GTA at SUNY and as an adjunct instructor for several community colleges, for almost 20 years. I have tutored all areas of reading, writing, and literature to individual and small groups of students for roughly 12 years. I also have tutored the ELA sections of the SAT and ACT for roughly five years, and I spent two years scoring the SAT essay and two years scoring the TOEFL and CAASPP/SBAC tests for ETS. I also taught a semester of the reading and writing sections of the SAT and PSAT for a private test preparation service.
