Leana

Hello! My name is Leana and I`m a 24-year-old nursing student. I haven`t always been good at math, but as I got older, everything started to make sense. The way they teach math now is so much different from how they taught me when I was in K-12, but I`m still able to figure things out as long as I have an idea of what the lesson is about or what type of equation is being used. I`m great at word problems too.

Experience: I have tutored my younger sibling in every subject, including math, from kindergarten until Sophomore year high school. My teaching style is a lot different from how I`ve seen others teach. I like to make connections between the content and my student`s interests. For example, I taught my younger sister how to do long division by integrating the story of The Three Little Pigs into it. As mentioned before, I wasn`t good at math growing up, and because of that, I know how to make the concepts less confusing and easier to visualize. I use pictures and highlight related concepts within complicated problems, and my sister finds lessons very fun and memorable.
