Angie

I am a Philadelphia-based native English speaker and experienced teacher with a passion for teaching the English language to learners from all over the globe in a fun, practical, and goal-oriented manner that produces results. Being the child of immigrant parents in America, I find great purpose and fulfillment in working with people who have a desire to improve their English in order to enhance their lives and careers. I am also motivated by a strong interest in the science of language and language acquisition.

I also have a strong business background, having spent 13 years working for a local-turned-national corporate coffee chain called La Colombe Coffee Roasters. I`m quite familiar with corporate culture and would be very comfortable teaching business English to corporate employees.

I am also a global traveler. I`ve visited more than 30 countries around the world, often in places less-traveled and off the beaten path. I love meeting people from around the world through teaching ESL.

Experience: I`ve been teaching English as a second language since 2008 in both classroom and private lesson settings. I enjoy the challenge of understanding my students` needs and tailoring the class to them in a fun, creative way. My approach is motivated by the understanding that language is a social endeavor as well as a science.

In my classes, I like to find a balance between making my students comfortable and giving them a good, fun challenge.
