Hello students! My name is Jocelyn, and I`m a Master`s student at Rice University. I have Bachelor`s degrees in both Biology and Music, and I can tutor Biology, Chemistry, Music Theory, and Music History at the college level and below. I can also tutor Math, English, and History through the high school level. During two years as a research assistant in a Biology lab, I developed strong teaching and communication skills. I am able to explain complex biological concepts in simple terms that a student new to the topic can understand.

Bred double and triple mutant Arabidopsis lines for use in aging experiments
Performed plant physiology experiments to determine impact of SPL2 and PLT2 on root growth

Extracted nucleic acids from A. thaliana roots & perform RT-qPCR to determine impact of PLT2 overexpression on miR172 and SMZ expression
Grew & maintained A. thaliana in growth chamber for months long experiment
