I am a retired registered nurse. I have two bachelors degrees and a masters degree; I have authored or co-authored an abstract and three manuscri pts (all published). I have traveled to approximately 25 countries. I have worked closely with immigrant populations and ESL speakers in the United States. I look forward to teaching you!

University-wide elected committee to oversee Department of Public Safety. Tasked with drafting complaints submitted to university police and directly to the committee. Individual work has included creation of a budget for National Association for Civilian Oversight of Law Enforcement training, working towards transparency of public safety practices and improved relationships between law enforcement and the community, and facilitating a community listening session.

Activities/responsibilities include sourcing of grant opportunities to be distributed to county non-profits, study and evaluation of how mental health public policy intersects with law enforcement, and development of aâcourt navigationâ project to accompany those with Limited English Proficiency (LEP) to court (manuscri pt in progress).

Hosted a candidate meet-and-greet, dropped literature door-to-door, and made several hundred phone calls on behalf of a Bernie Sanders-endorsed candidateâs successful campaign for Washtenaw County Prosecutor.

Advocacy for the immigrant/refugee community in Southeastern Michigan, including transport to and from ICE appointments, physician appointments, transport between residences, gathering and delivering donated items, helping manage social media for volunteer/donor list, and fundraising for legal fees, household items, and furniture. Successfully applied for and received insurance coverage for undocumented individualsâ healthcare.
The ONE Campaign, Congressional District Leader, MI-12 February 2015- March 2021
Lead volunteer in the state of Michigan for a global non-profit working to end extreme poverty. Duties included organizing and recruiting local volunteers for lobbying campaigns for legislation such as the Electrify Africa Act, The READ Act, the BUILD Act, and the Global Fragility Act (all passed by Congress and signed into law).
