Teaching English (Literature, Writing, Grammar, etc.) is my passion. I believe, as Paulo Freire once wrote, that for all of us, "Reading the world precedes reading the word." And so I try to incorporate and adjust my teaching to each individual student - learning and practicing skills in a way that relates to the world and experiences of the learner. I also love music and art, and when it will assist the learning process, I encourage students to use creative modalities as a "way in" to challenging material. Learning is meant to be exciting, fun, and effective. (Here`s where most students roll their eyes.) And I do my best to prove that that`s possible.

Availability: I am available afternoons and some weekday evenings. I am also available all day Sunday.

Experience: I taught 8th grade English in Miami for 2 years. I taught middle school and high school English for 2.5 years in New York, after receiving my Masters Degree in Secondary English Education from Columbia University, Teachers College.
