Information about Mubaraq
Iâm a PhD student in Aerospace Engineering at Kent State University, where I also earned my masterâs degree in aerospace engineering. Before that, I completed my bachelorâs degree in mechanical engineering at Bells University of Technology. My academic path has always been shaped by a curiosity about how things move, flow, and behave especially under high stress and extreme environments. Teaching has become one of the most meaningful parts of my journey so far; it was not something I initially planned, but rather something I have grown into and genuinely enjoy.
During Fall 2024, I had the opportunity to teach Thermal Fluids Engineering to undergraduates. It was a full lecture course, not just a lab, and I handled everything from lectures and assignments to exams. I focused a lot on making the material make sense by breaking down concepts like fluid flow, heat transfer, and energy systems in ways that felt practical and relevant. I endeavored to impart knowledge in a manner that aligned with my initial understanding of these concepts.
I also work as a graduate assistant in the Materials and Process Lab, where I help students with hands-on projects like machining, forging, welding, and casting. I think engineering should be both theoretical and practical. So I make it a point to guide students in both areas: understanding the "why" and mastering the "how."
My goal when I teach is pretty simple: I want students to leave my class with more confidence in their abilities, a stronger grasp of the fundamentals, and a sense that engineering is something they can do and do well. Teaching has taught me just as much as I have taught my students, which has been highly rewarding, and I am truly grateful for every part of that experience.
