I am a UK native who moved to the US in 2004 to get a PhD and advance my career. During both my academic and industrial careers. I am friendly and easy-going, and get on well with all people. My belief is that learning is far easier when everyone gets along well and feels comfortable with each other. My wife moved from Los Angeles to Richmond, VA, in 2012 to be with me, then we moved back to California a year later for a new job I got there. She recently got a great job in Austin so it was time to move for her career and to settle down where we both want to live. I look forward to the opportunity of using my knowledge and personality to help others achieve their academic goals.

Availability: 7 days a week. 8am-10pm

Experience: I have a degree in Biological Sciences and Applied Biology from the University of Brighton in the UK, and a PhD in Medical Microbiology from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. I have given many presentations to diverse audiences on a range of subjects close to my roles. My specialization is in bacteriophage (phage) biology and I have worked extensively on therapeutic and diagnostic applications of phage technology. Since completing my PhD I have worked in the biotech industry. First for a UK/US-based startup and then for a California-based startup that was acquired by the pharmaceutical giant Roche, where I have worked for around 4 years until I moved to Austin.
