I was raised the child of a Marine Corps officer, so I have lived around the country and world. Graduating from University of Northern Colorado in 1993, I headed to Houston, Texas for my first job as a teacher. Later, I heard the call of the coast and came to Charleston to enjoy the beach and family. I married and chose to put teaching on the back burner to raise three amazing young men: Sam, a Citadel graduate working in business and training to be an FCA regional leader; Jackson, a Berkeley county fireman; and Will, a high school senior. I love the beach and am happy to live in Mt. Pleasant. Other interests include writing and travel. I have visited Ireland three times, Spain, Mexico, the Bahamas, and Greece and am set to leave for an eight-day trip to Portugal later this week!
