Hi I am Rhonda Lawson, an educator of 24 years, who loves all things Reading. I have a passion for collecting and reading books of all types, I believe that books provides windows and mirrors for us to explore through. I have 2 lovely daughters, A soon to be graduate of HS and a 28 year old. I live in Carrollton Texas, via Little Rock Arkansas. I love all learning and teaching. I spend my time crafting my skills as an Reading Teacher/Interventionist to not only Support students but teachers new to the Reading Workshop Model. I believe that Data Drives instruction and that using that data will not only increase the reading proficiency of scholars but allow me to personalize instruction . I recently launched. Educating Readers Literacy Academy LLC, where I help educators use data to create targeted lesson plans that move at-risk readers toward proficiency and provide tutoring packages for parents looking for afterschool or weekend support for their scholars. I have written and created an afterschool tutoring program for the middle school I served.

Experience: I have been an educator for 24 years. I have experience teaching second, fourth, fifth, and sixth grade Middle school. I have certifications in Gifted and Talented, and ESL. I served as GT teacher of record in elementary and in Middle school while also serving as the Team Lead. I served as the in class interventionist of students with Dyslexia that didn`t have direct MTA instructional minutes in their school schedules. However, I am trained in MTA and recently Trained in HD Word. I currently serve as District Secondary Dyslexia Interventionist at the HS level. I have experience using and implementing Lucy Caulkins` Units of Study, Fountas an Pinell`s Reading Workshop. I have been and continue to
engage in self training via EDWEB in Science of Reading to better support scholars where they are.
