I`ve lived on the Texas-Mexican border for years, and I was born in Texas. I speak conversational Spanish, have a basic understanding of Mandarin Chinese, and have nearly 28 years of experience teaching English and English as a foreign language. I’ve also lived in Spain and China, and on a Native American reservation in Alaska. I’ve taught Mexican and Chinese students, as well as students from all over the world. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation for cultural differences and the challenges people face when learning a new language.

Experience: I’ve taught a wide range of students, from university level down to 12-year-olds, including professionals and teens. I spent 11 years as a public school teacher on the Texas-Mexico border, focusing on ESL. After that, I taught ESL at a university for a decade, working with students from all over the world. I also spent three years in China, helping students prepare for American high schools, and six months in Spain teaching adults. Additionally, I taught for two years in a Native American village, where many students faced challenges with standard American English. Throughout my career, I’ve created tailored curricula to meet my students’ specific needs, whether they were looking for professional, academic, or basic communication skills.
