Hello there! My name is Wade , and I would love the opportunity to help anyone struggling in school (regardless of curriculum). I am a profound believer that our public education system doesn`t do enough to produce individuals who have the ability to critically think and grow on their own. I witnessed this first hand, when I was wildly underprepared for the curriculum at Texas A&M University coming straight out of highschool.

I wasn`t the only one, and I soon realized the majority of students were in the same boat as I was. Over the years that I was a student, I developed personal methods of studying that promoted my understanding of the material presented in the classroom. These methods were not specific to a single class or topic, but were broad enough to coincide with most courses.

The way I operate is completely different from the average person, so the methods that I use for myself may not work for you or your student. However, I have had enough experience teaching others, that I have grown accustomed to identifying strategies that better coincide with my student. My goal is to not teach the student what is right in front of them at face value. I focus on teaching the principles and general patterns found within the material, so that the student understands the problem due to problem solving, not memorization. I find that this reinforces not only the student`s understanding of the material, but also their ability to critically think and their confidence in themselves.

If anything, I try to make every learning experience as meaningful as possible. I truly get enjoyment out of helping others, and nothing makes me happier as an instructor than seeing the fire light up in a student`s eyes because it finally "clicked". If there is any additional information I can provide to aid in your decision, please feel free to let me know. Thank you very much for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you!

Willing to travel: 15 miles

Experience: I was a student at Texas A&M University, where I recieved both a B.S. degree in Geology and a M.S. degree in Construction Managment. I credit my keen attention to detail and organizational skills to the Corps of Cadets, where I was taught the essentials of being a student, teacher, and leader.

Additionally, regardless of subject, I found myself tutoring my fellow peers for the last four years of my college career. I would digest the information presented in class well enough that I consistently reworded/restructured the ideas presented, so that my peers could begin to comprehend what they needed to know. I have a personal affinity for teaching, and love to inject a positive learning atmosphere into every session with a student. I try to form connections with them, that way I can better understand how they work mentally, which in turn promotes a more refined learning plan.

I have had hundreds of students from all walks of life/cultures, and have taught well over 50 different subjects. My students (a conservative estimate being 98% of them, minimum) have seen a direct correlation between their scores and my teachings. I personally cannot recall ever having a student who`s understanding and scores didn`t improve. In fact, since the methods I teach run parallel to many different subjects, I have found that the teaching habits I pass on to my students also improve their affinity in other subjects/courses.
