Tutoring writing, persuasion, and analysis in essay format is my forte. I connect with my students. I build strong relationships with them in order to understand their needs to meet their goals. I believe in being supportive and offering praise for what is done well and suggesting ways to improve.
Availability: I am available seven days a week from 6 AM to midnight.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I have been a tutor, instructor, and mentor for almost 20 years. My experience includes tutoring and mentoring middle school aged children at the Johns Hopkins U. Center for Talented Youth for four years, serving as a full-time Lecturer of writing and humanities for traditional students at the HBCU Morgan State U. for eight years, and as an instructor and mentor of both traditional and adult students at UMUC for 12 years. I have taught introduction and advanced essay writing, writing the research paper, critical thinking, business writing, literary theory, 20th-century American literature, and African literature.
