I came from Cuba when I was 7 years old. My father had a PHD in English and taught at the University in Havana, Cuba. He tutored his own private students and took me with him many times. I was always learning the methods he used and came from Cuba being fully bilingual in English and Spanish. I am a good teacher because my dad instructed me not only in the subject matter, but in the joy of helping others.

I was tutoring students in school since I was 13. I went to a private school and if someone needed help or a teacher was absent, the principal would take me out of class to help out. I loved working with students all my life and still do.

Experience: I have been teaching for 46 years. I enjoy tutoring small groups or one on one. I work well on Zoom, WhatsApp, or Google Meetings. I always use a textbook and supplemental materials as well as the techniques necessary to reach the student most effectively.

I try to make learning fun and apply it to the student`s experiences. English can be taught at all levels using reading, vocabulary, phonics, and grammar. I have taught 1st grade through 12th grade. I have also prepared students for ELA, SAT, and ACT.
