I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics & Economics at College Of Staten Island and I have much experience in tutoring math. I am currently working on my master degree in Statistics and Applied Mathematics at Hunter College. I have been working as a math tutor in College of Staten Island for the past two years. I tutored different levels of math, which are remedial math, college algebra, business math, calculus, probability, statistics and differential equations. I tutor students to recognize the structures/patterns of each type of problem such that they could apply the right method to solve similar problems. I also teach students how to break down the hard math problem and transform them into an easy problem, and they could use this technique for doing further harder problems. I also worked as a teacher assistant in IS 49 from 2008-2009. I assisted 7th-8th graders with in class assignments. I mainly used daily examples to tutor them such that they could understand how to solve a mathematical problem by some simple scenarios. I found this technique could help them to remember how to solve a problem when they would do similar problems next time. I am currently working in Fashion Institute of Technology as a math tutor. I assist students who have learning disability in math and I tutor them how to be confidential about their study. I usually diagnose their weakness in math and I will address that for the further tutoring sections. I also taught the 3rd—7th graders in IP Kids academy for the weekend school and I prepare them for the New York State math exams.
