Currently, I work March-May in Sacramento for CTB McGraw-Hill as a test evaluator. I have been qualifying and scoring since 2007.


Reading Tutor

Tutoring was done at the schools from 3-4:30 p.m., twice weekly. Tutors wrote lesson plans specifically tailored to their students’ needs for each session. Initial testing for the students included the Slossen Oral Reading Test (SORT) which was used to group the students according to their reading levels, and an informal word analysis test which helped pinpoint areas that needed work. A typical lesson plan included: a review, sight word recognition, word sounds, word structure, vocabulary, oral reading, comprehension, word games, and progress chart. During those four semesters, I tutored both boys and girls in the fourth and fifth grades.
