I have been tutoring and mentoring for most of my adult life starting in high school where I tutored for geometry and reading, mentored peers, and worked with gifted elementary school children. In college I worked with incoming freshmen to help them acclimatize themselves to life as a college student in the College of Design at Iowa State University. After college I joined the Peace Corps as an Environmental Education volunteer. I worked with high school students raising awareness about the local ecology in Poland. I worked as an elementary school aide after the Peace Corps in an elementary school in Iowa. I worked with handicapped children and those with intellectual disabilities to improve their reading and writing skills. I was also a `big sister` type mentor during this time for a 4th grader.

I have spent my entire life creating. Creating in art and language primarily. I am currently writing two books about creativity. Both are project based books. The first is 15 minute exercises to improve creativity. The second is larger projects using a creative process to complete. I have a great amount of experience with crafts (including beading, polymer clay, paper crafting, textile crafts, and functional crafts) and arts (including sculpture, acrylic painting, collage, mixed media, cut paper, some water color, drawing, Photoshop, and photography).

Availability: Monday through Friday after 2:30 pm

Experience: I have an excellent vocabulary and experience with semantics as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills which apply to the work environment, public interactions, and interpersonal relationships. I have fifteen year’s creative experience with planning, designing, writing copy, and proofreading marketing campaign materials, and a lifetime of writing short stories, prose, poetry, and non-fiction.

I have twenty years experience with Photoshop, rendering landscape plans and creating compositions and collages from photographs and from scratch. I have five years experience marketing non-profits and national and local businesses, building awareness, working with budgets, and reaching profit goals__as well as a lifetime of creative thinking, problem-solving, brainstorming, creative writing, and out-of-the-box ideas.
