I am a recipient of state, national, and international writing awards in the areas of education, business, politics, religion, aviation, mental health, features, and editorials.

My teaching method is simple. We will autopsy your writing: dissect every sentence, repair any damage we find, and resuscitate it.

We learn to write by rewriting, under the watchful eye of a patient, competent editor, until we own every word and punctuation mark. We recast our work until it flows from thought to thought without stumbling.

When you read your paper aloud and hear a symphony, you will know it`s ready for submission.

There is nothing as gratifying for me as sharing knowledge with people who are eager to improve themselves, personally and professionally.

Availability:
My schedule is quite flexible.

I am normally available from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week.

Online tutoring has also worked well for me. Most students actually prefer working online, provided there are visual/audio connections and screen sharing for writing and editing.

Experience:
I am a professional writer and former newspaper editor. I also served as director of communications in the corporate arena.

I`ve held nearly every position at Wisconsin newspapers, from cub reporter, immediately after college, to managing editor. My service with The Fourth Estate comprises most of my professional background.

An editor`s job is the very essence of tutoring.

In addition to writing, I teach related skills: English, grammar, proofreading/editing, and vocabulary.

I work with high school, college, and graduate students adults who wish to improve their facility with the written word.
