Hi, my name is Kayla , and I want to make your writing great.

I am currently employed at a literacy and education non-profit where I work as a writing instructor and oversee the writing, editing and publishing of materials for the organization. I have recently moved to Chicago after several years in Austin, where I was employed as a writing consultant in a writing center. I am also an experienced writer of my own, and I can produce samples upon your request.

I offer proofreading, editing, ghostwriting and writing consultation services for writers of all ages, skill levels, objectives and abilities.

What is a writing consultation?
A writing consultation is a one-on-one session that usually lasts 1.5 to 2 hours. In this session, we will build skills to not only improve the piece of writing you are currently working on, but your overall writing abilities. A typical consultation begins with a casual conversation about your expectations and goals for your writing assignment. Then, if you are still in the pre-writing phase, I will interview you to help generate ideas. As I take notes, I will draft a graphic organizer or outline together that will assemble the information you present to me in a way that will give you a launchpad to begin your assignment.

Experience: I am currently employed as a writing instructor and editor/publisher for a literacy non-profit in River North. My previous position was as a writing consultant at a writing center in Austin, Texas, where I held that position for 3 years. I`ve also worked a private tutor since 2009.
